Network-within-a-network communications.

Problem: One of the three major television networks was running two parallel data networks across the US. One was a high-speed, proprietary network supporting communications between their mainframe systems and the other an X.25 network supporting personal computers The client wanted to streamline it's network infrastructure to eliminate redundancy without sacrificing reliability.

Action: We designed and implemented a solution to use the high-speed network to encapsulate and transport the data previously carried by the X.25 network.

Result: The client was able to eliminate the parallel X.25 network and decrease costs, while at the same time providing higher speed connections between the personal computers.
