Problem:
The customer's messaging system did not support CCITT X.400 message transport. European firms early
adoption of this worldwide standard severely limited our customer's ability to attract their business.
The manufacturer of the hardware on which the customer's messaging software executed could not
provide an X.400 subsystem at all, let alone one capable of handling the high transaction loads
anticipated.
Action:
We designed and implemented a high capacity X.400 message exchange subsystem that integrated with
our customer's messaging platform.
Result:
Client was able to interconnect with other domestic and international messaging systems.
Implementation of this standard messaging interface proved to be crucial to the survival of
the client's service.
